A little about us

Hi, I'm Allison

I’m a registered Physiotherapist, originally from Pictou County, now living in Halifax with my husband, Daragh, our son Odhran and our pup, Rue. I did my undergrad at Saint Francis Xavier University with a BSc in Kinesiology in 2017, then moved to the UK to study Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University. During my time in the UK, I worked in both private practice and hospital settings, gaining invaluable experiences with various neurological, orthopaedic and cardio-respiratory conditions.

I was a highland dancer when I was younger and as a result, found myself on the physio table quite a lot! My earliest experiences with physio were overwhelmingly positive; I had an exceptional clinician, whose knowledge and skill always resulted in a speedy recovery and getting me back to even better than before my injury. Since then I have had many opportunities to meet and work along side many great physios from all over which has given me a broad perspective and allowed me to become a well rounded practitioner. Everyone has a unique and completely different experience, goals and perspectives - understanding this personal story and meeting people where they are, and working together to get them to where they want to be, is a critical and integral part of person centred care.

Here at Doyle Physiotherapy we believe there is a need for more personalized care when it comes to your rehab journey. There is no one size fits all. Getting to work in people’s communities, supporting them in their homes takes a barrier to care away allowing people to recover from injury in the comfort of their home.
